Every week I will be attending a workshop for the Summer Undergraduate Scholars Program. This week's workshop focused on Integrity and Ethics in Research. This two hour workshop involved us with discussions and a collaborative game experience. In this game each scholar evaluated scenarios, chose to be ethical or unethical per scenario, and then faced the consequences of each decision choice throughout the remainder of the game as their 3-D printed game piece made its way to the end of the game sheet. The goal by the end of the game was to be the researcher with the most "prestige points" which were gathered by landing on prestige spaces and making ethical decisions throughout the game. I was very surprised by how much I took away from this first workshop. I am so excited for the rest of the program.
