Yesterday in lab we discussed professional development. We had previously discussed our digital presence while creating our student web pages. Yesterday however, we went a little more in-depth. Dr. Kameko Halfmann explained how we could create a Digital Resident & Visitor Map to monitor our activity within the digital community. She explained how we can map our activity on the axes Visitor-Resident and Professional-Personal to describe our usage of each digital media source. Inspired by this professional development topic I have created my own Digital Resident and Visitor Map (see picture). This map now makes it easier to see my usage tendencies and will allow me to investigate which resources have the potential to be used more professionally.
